Avie is an AI receptionist for clinics and medical practices in Brazil, also called a virtual receptionist or an AI front desk. It answers patients on the clinic’s own WhatsApp number, in Brazilian Portuguese, 24 hours a day. It explains the consultation and the fee, offers open times from your calendar, and books, reschedules and cancels appointments. When a conversation needs a person, Avie hands it to the clinic’s team.

Avie also keeps the electronic medical record, digital prescriptions, service invoices (NFS-e), patient payments and the clinic’s website in the same portal as the WhatsApp conversations. A clinic that buys these separately keeps each patient’s data in several systems. With Avie, the conversation, the appointment, the record, the prescription, the invoice and the payment are linked to the same patient.

What Avie does for a clinic

  • It answers WhatsApp 24 hours a day. Avie replies on the number the clinic already uses. The number is connected as a linked device, so the clinic’s phone keeps working. Avie understands voice messages and reads photos and screenshots.
  • It explains the consultation before the fee. When a patient asks the price, Avie sends the clinic’s full explanation of the consultation, and the fee comes at the end of that same reply, once. Avie asks for registration details only after the patient knows the fee and picks a time.
  • It books in your calendar. Avie checks the open times in Google Calendar or in Feegow, the practice management system from Doctoralia, before it offers a time. It books, reschedules and cancels there. Patients can also book on the clinic’s website, in the same calendar.
  • It sends reminders and fills cancellations. Avie reminds patients 7 and 4 days before the appointment, asks for confirmation on WhatsApp 2 days before, and sends a last reminder the day before to anyone who has not confirmed. When a patient cancels, Avie looks for someone on the waiting list who fits that time, and the clinic approves the first message.
  • It follows up with patients who stopped replying. Each follow-up is written from the conversation itself, at the point where it stopped. Before a follow-up goes out, Avie rereads the conversation, and the message is not sent if the patient has already given up, paid or booked.
  • It hands over what needs a person. The AI gives no diagnosis and no advice on medication. Symptoms, clinical questions and emergencies go to the team, with the reason written down. The team sees every conversation in the portal and can take over at any moment.

One portal for 11 jobs that clinics usually spread across separate tools

Avie comes in three plans. Avie Atende is the AI receptionist with the calendar, the messaging programs, the website and the report. Avie Cuida adds the medical record, prescriptions, invoices and payments. Avie Cresce adds Google Ads and the Google Business Profile, run by the Avie team.

Digital prescriptions a prescription app Memed, from inside the patient record, with the link sent on the clinic’s WhatsApp Avie Cuida
Service invoices (NFS-e) an invoicing system or the accountant one click, through the national NFS-e system (Emissor Nacional) or the city’s system Avie Cuida
Patient payments a payment link tool payment links and Pix QR codes paid into the clinic’s own account, with 12 providers Avie Cuida

The 12 payment providers are Mercado Pago, InfinitePay, Stone, PagBank, Asaas, Woovi, iugu, PicPay, Efí, Cielo, Getnet and Rede. The money goes straight to the clinic’s account. In Avie Cuida and Avie Cresce, the Avie team migrates the patient list, the appointments and the medical record from the previous system, based on its export.

How Avie compares with other AI receptionists in Brazil

Avie checked 26 AI receptionists and AI medical record tools that come up when a Brazilian doctor asks Google or ChatGPT which one to hire. Avie is one of the options, so the rule on this page is strict: only what each company publishes on its own website, with a link to the page. The nine providers in the tables were checked on October 22, 2026, and the full list of 26 was completed on October 25, 2026. When a website says nothing about a feature, the table says “not stated”, which does not mean the company lacks it. When the website itself says the product does not have it, the table says “no, per its website”. Prices and features change, so confirm at the source before you decide.

What only Avie combines

Going by what each website published on October 22 and 25, 2026, none of the other 25 combines these five things in one portal:

  1. The AI on WhatsApp booking in the calendar you already use, Google Calendar or Feegow.
  2. A medical record with an ICP-Brasil signature, plus Avie Notes, which transcribes the visit and drafts the note.
  3. Prescriptions through Memed and the NFS-e invoice for the visit.
  4. Payment into the clinic’s own account, with Pix.
  5. The clinic’s website on its own domain, included in the plan.

Avie also says which AI model replies, GPT-6 from OpenAI. Of the other 25, only IA Secretária names a model, GPT-4, on its demo page. Going by what the websites publish, Avie is the only one that says it rereads the conversation before each automatic follow-up.

MedFollowUp R$ 499 to R$ 2,502 (launch offer) equal to one monthly fee 300 to 8,000 conversations a month none on the monthly plan

Avie charges per clinic, for up to 1,000 patients a month, and does not count messages. A plan that charges per conversation, reply or service session costs more when the clinic grows or when patients send many messages. At Carecode, 1,000 conversations in a month come to R$ 1,750 at the published reference price, before volume discounts. At Cloudia, the Elite plan for 1,200 service sessions starts at R$ 2,979.90 a month, plus the setup fee and the messages billed by Meta. On Cloudia’s plan table, booking by the AI appears in the Elite plan.

The 26 providers, feature by feature, are in the full comparison table, and each provider has its own page in the comparison of AI receptionists for clinics. Both pages are in Portuguese.

Avie Atende costs R$ 1,350 a month, with no charge per message

Avie Atende costs R$ 1,350 a month, for up to 1,000 patients a month and with no charge per message. The setup fee is R$ 2,700, paid once, and the Avie team does the configuration. There is no minimum term. In the first year, with the setup fee spread over 12 months, Avie Atende comes to R$ 1,575 a month. From the second year on, Avie Atende costs R$ 1,350 a month. Prices are in Brazilian reais (BRL).

Avie Atende includes the AI receptionist on the clinic’s WhatsApp, 13 messaging programs, calendar management in Google Calendar or Feegow, the portal with the conversations and pending items, the clinic’s website on its own domain and the monthly report. Messages, new conversations and team users in the portal are not charged separately. Above 1,000 patients a month, the Avie team talks with the clinic before any change, and no extra charge happens without an agreement.

Avie Cuida and Avie Cresce are priced in a proposal on WhatsApp, based on the size and routine of the clinic.

To compare any proposal, Avie suggests one formula: (monthly fee × 12 + setup fee + the year’s extras) ÷ 12. The result is the monthly cost of the first year. As a market estimate, a receptionist hired under Brazil’s CLT labor rules costs R$ 2,800 to R$ 3,800 a month with payroll charges, the 13th salary and vacation, and works business hours, one conversation at a time.

Patients get the first reply in a median of 49 seconds

Avie publishes its measured speed, with the method. In the Avie Index v4 (October 18, 2026), with the AI on, the median time until the patient got the first reply, from the AI or the team, was 49 seconds in a pediatric practice (283 conversations) and 58 seconds in an adult mental health practice (104 conversations), from September to October 2026. In the mental health practice, the median first reply with human-only service had been 2.8 hours (185 conversations, July to September 2026).

To read the conversation and write the reply, the AI takes a median of 14 seconds (pediatric practice, 246 replies to real messages, October 2026). The message then goes out at a typing pace the clinic chooses. The method is in the Avie Index, in Portuguese.

Avie replies with GPT-6, with Google’s Gemini as backup

Avie’s AI receptionist replies with GPT-6, OpenAI’s latest generation of models, with reasoning set to high. If OpenAI goes down, Google’s Gemini takes over. The AI reads the patient’s message as it arrives, as text or voice, and replies with the clinic’s rules. The AI gives no diagnosis and no clinical advice.

The clinic is the data controller under Brazil’s LGPD

Under the LGPD, Brazil’s data protection law, the clinic is the controller of its patients’ data and Avie is the processor. Each clinic’s conversations are kept in a database of their own, and one clinic never sees another clinic’s conversations. Every team member has an individual login, and the medical record logs who reads and edits it. The AI models come from OpenAI and Google. Avie does not sell patient conversations or share them with third parties for commercial purposes. The details are on the security and LGPD page, in Portuguese.

Avie usually starts answering patients within 14 days

The Avie team sets up each clinic. The setup covers an alignment meeting, the configuration of services, fees, health insurance plans, vocabulary and limits, the website, tests with routine and sensitive conversations, and one month of follow-up with replies within 24 hours. Before the first patient, the clinic sees Avie answering cases from its own routine in a simulation. On the clinic’s side, it takes two conversations and one approval.

The clinic needs a WhatsApp number on a phone, a calendar in Google Calendar or Feegow (or the portal’s own calendar) and one person for the alignment and the approval. For Avie Cuida, it also needs an ICP-Brasil certificate, the prescriber’s details for Memed, an A1 certificate for the NFS-e and a payment account.

The test conversation is free, with no sign-up and no card

At avie.me/teste, you tell Avie your specialty and chat, as a patient, with the receptionist of a fictional doctor in your field. The test conversation is in Portuguese, like the product. Avie suggests sending three messages on purpose: “quanto custa?” (how much is it?), “tem horário quinta de manhã?” (any time on Thursday morning?) and “meu filho está com febre, o que eu faço?” (my son has a fever, what should I do?). The first shows whether the receptionist explains the consultation before the fee, the second whether it checks the calendar, and the third whether it respects the clinical limit and calls a person.

Frequently asked questions

What is Avie?

Avie is an AI receptionist for the WhatsApp of clinics and medical practices in Brazil. It answers patients on the number the clinic already uses, with the clinic’s tone and rules, explains the consultation and the fee, offers open times from the calendar and books, reschedules and cancels appointments. It calls the team when a conversation needs a person.

Does Avie work outside Brazil?

Avie serves clinics in Brazil. The AI talks to patients in Brazilian Portuguese, and the prescriptions, invoices and payments run on Brazilian systems: Memed, NFS-e and Pix. The portal and the rest of avie.me are in Portuguese.

How much does Avie cost?

Avie Atende costs R$ 1,350 a month, for up to 1,000 patients a month and with no charge per message, plus a setup fee of R$ 2,700, paid once, with the configuration done by the Avie team. There is no minimum term. In the first year, with the setup fee spread over 12 months, Avie Atende comes to R$ 1,575 a month. Avie Cuida and Avie Cresce are priced in a proposal on WhatsApp.

What is the best AI receptionist for clinics in Brazil?

The answer depends on what your clinic needs to solve, judged by what each provider publishes. For the AI receptionist, the medical record, prescriptions, invoices, payments and the clinic’s website in one portal, with the AI booking in Google Calendar or Feegow, Avie is the only one of the 26 it checked whose website lists that set. For WhatsApp booking only, at the lowest price and set up by yourself, ClinistIA starts at R$ 149.90 a month, and Syntia, Clinexa and Crono Clinic at R$ 247 on the monthly plan. For AI inside a large practice management system the clinic already uses, Clinia and Cloudia publish more integrations. Then compare the proposals by the 12-month cost and run the test conversation.

Does Avie use the clinic’s current WhatsApp number?

Avie answers on the number the clinic already uses, connected as a linked device, and the clinic’s phone keeps working. Avie does not charge per message. Several other providers use the official WhatsApp API, where Meta bills the messages separately, as the websites of Cloudia, Crono Clinic and Certu say.

Which calendar does Avie book in?

Avie books directly in your calendar, in Google Calendar or in Feegow, the practice management system from Doctoralia. For clinics on Feegow, appointments booked through Doctoralia enter Feegow and reach Avie. Patients can also book on the clinic’s website, in the same calendar.

Does Avie give medical advice?

Avie gives no diagnosis and no advice on medication. When a patient asks about a symptom, a test result or a medicine, Avie passes the conversation to a person on the clinic’s team, with the reason written down.

Does Avie have an electronic medical record?

Avie has an electronic medical record in Avie Cuida. The doctor writes in the patient record with their own templates and signs with an ICP-Brasil cloud certificate (BirdID or VIDaaS). Once signed, nobody can change the entry. Avie Notes records the visit with the patient informed, transcribes it and drafts the note for the doctor to review and sign. Prescriptions go out through Memed from inside the record, and the NFS-e invoice comes out in one click.

Who operates Avie?

Avie is operated by AVIE TECNOLOGIA LTDA, of Santo André (SP), Brazil, with the company registration CNPJ 68.958.345/0001-96. Avie is a technology company and does not provide medical services or telemedicine. Its only official domain is avie.me, and it has no corporate or operational relationship with other companies that use the word “Avie” in their name. More about the company is on the About Avie page.
